View from Maris balcony in Fiji!

The English guy, GUY that Mary lives with, wanted me to take a photo of the view of the house we all live in in Tamavua in Suva. Here it is - this is what I wake up to every morning! And yes, we have a swimming pool! Its not as sunny as this every day though, but the place is really nice.

Cava party and waterfalls

Its Saturday night in Suva, and its time for some cava. Dave mixes the powder from a fijian root and puts in into a big bowl of water. It looks like mud water when its done. Mike gave me a cup and i drank it - no offense to the fijians but it tasted like shit, haha.. Cava makes you calm, maybe thats why i fell asleep at two a.m. trying to watch a world cup game in the bar we went to later? Yeah, it must have been the cava!

MMMM cava!!

Going out in Suva.

The day after we went to a water fall in the rain forest. Pretty good for
hang overs :)

When I am back in civilization, I also have the opportunity to post some more photos from the trip. So here they are, enjoy!

Now this is what i call RED DIRT :)

Trip in the outback near Karratha.

Karratha, the mining town where Simon works.

Aboriginal rock carvings.
Below: Who could imagine this little, beautiful pool in the middle of the desert?? NOT ME!
An emu guest came over for breakfast!

Back in civilization!

And so, after a month on the road, we are back in civilization. And guess what happened on my birthday! Mojo, Simons sisters dog, ran into my room with balloons all over him and earrings from india around his neck with a note saying he was gonna be nice the next time i take him for a run :)

Then I was taken to a five star resort!! And we watched the sun go down with the waves crashing and a glass of local red wine. Not a bad way to spend my birthday i must say! I simply loved it!!!

CHEERS TO ME!!

80 mile beach

After Karratha we stopped over on a place along 80 mile beach. It IS 80 miles of beach, and it is beautiful. The caravan park looked funny though, because of a cyclone of category five that raged through the area in december. It was so strong it lifted a road trains and threw them over. It lifted sea containers and ruined all the nice, shady trees in the caravan park. AND, it lifted cows. Walking on the beautiful, longs streches of white sand, you will find skeletons from dead cows on eighty mile beach. They where all taken away with the wind, and smashed down on the beach. Here is one of them:

Below: Eighty Mile Beach. Drive for as long as you want to!!

Below: Me and my aboriginal friend. No its not a bomb, but a nut he sold me that he had carced out by himself. Simon´s nut has a kangaroo and a dingo on it, mine has a mud crab.
